hello,
does anyone know the current situation for the purchasing of 7.50x20 Nato/wehrmacht tyres.
kommiss and lehar dont supply now.
in the steyr forum we discussed this and after a few emails to Lehar he did offer to have them produced but a minimum order 200 would have to be placed to make it worth while. ( we would need 28 trucks needing seven tyres each and i need tyres for 3 or 4 trucks!)
and what is the deal with the 8.00X20 tyres floating around?? what were they made for?
thanks tony nz

Opel Blitz 1938 to 1942 with 16,410 examples made. Also made post war with some mechanical and styling changes. Obvious differences- earlier axles had small hubs and drums.(see pic- small drums on top big drums underneath) 6 heart shaped holes in the wheels Post war had heavy axles and 4 hole wheels not sure when the 6 hole oval wheels were made. any one know the styling changes- something about the grill and glove box?

Here is my project truck. A 1944 Opel Blitz 6700A BR1Z24070. The Coach built fire truck body was built by Konrad Rosenbauer K.G.. The truck will gradually be rebuilt to its original war time spec with a GS body using bits from a spare parts 3 tonner. The grill and front panels were rebuilt using measurements and photos from Hans K's example. Some war paint has survived on the firewall. For now it gets a war time style repaint. Currently waiting on the engine rebuild to be completed cheers, MVNUT

We should tidy the Blitz chat up by starting new threads
A new thread for each model- 1 Ton (2.0-12 and 5200) 1.5ton (2.5-32) pre and post war 3 Ton "S" 3 Ton 6700A
I have piles of junk in each catagory so it would be a help to separate them.
I will take some shots of 1.5 ton changes and start a new thread tomorrow.
Fantastic truck Hans. Cant wait till mine looks as good!! Ill be sending you out to the shed with your measuring tape a few more times yet!!

Hello,
what are the obvious production changes that make the year of manufacture for kubelwagen bodies and chassis easy to estimate visually?
thanks for the help MVNUT

I have a basket case Opel Blitz 1 Tonner about 1936.
It desperately needs 5 goods wheels and brakes drums to make the project viable. any help would be greatly appreciated.
the wheels are the same as a certain Opel saloon of the period but Im not sure which.
thanks MVNUT

hello,
does any one have the real story about when the factories changed from panzer grey to ordnance tan as the base colour for vehicles out of the factory?? i thought it was feb to april 1943 but there seems to be tan paint on late 1942 vehicles.

Nice to see a general German vehicles forum. I see some of my friends are already here. I have half a dozen or so vehicles and look forward to contributing.
