Hello SdKfz7,
Very good cabinet, is the D-Benz Aufbau data plate on the cabinet or for a M-Benz 1500 vehicle that carries the cabinet?

Hi Lolo,
I cannot put photos on this forum due to Photobucket changes, however if you can send me your e-mail address I can scan the D776 and send you photos that way.
The vehicle type used in the D776 document is a M-Benz 1500, but I do have one poor quality photo of a Steyr 1500 with this equipment fitted.
Maybe you could also tell me the chassis number of your Steyr, always interested in that kind of data. Do yo have a body data plate also ??
cheers PAUL

Hi Lolo,
This cabinet is for a Steyr or M-Benz 1500 with the open top troop carrying body, with this cabinet fitted the vehicle is a Fernschreibanschlusstrupp vehicle.
So this vehicle's prime function is for Teleprinters and the MG is for it own protection.
D-VORSCHRIFT D776 Fernschreibanschlusstrupp (mot) of 10 November 1942 has all this information.
Apart from having all the necessary teleprinter equipment, there is also all the usual MG related equipment, drum magazines, double and single spare barrel containers, Mg Ammo boxes etc., etc.,
It appears that the same cabinet can also be used for the Fernsprechwagen version of a Steyr/M-B 1500.
Cheers Paul

Hi,
The tactical sign is for a chief motorised medical unit (Hauptverbandplatz), the top two circles are incorrect and should be a horizontal line, thereby making a cross ( + ) above the triangle.

Hi,
The manufacture of Rolf's typ A2 Anhanger is "fdh", which is Winkelstrater & Sure, Wuppertal-Barmen.
But the "fdh" code is not very clear in the photo, is "fdh" correct? or is it maybe "fdn"
