Hi Dennisbcarney congrats on your new kubel , On the schwimmwagen site,www.vw166.com there is a guy selling acompleat front axel but hes in italy , about 5 pages in in the parts for sale, worth checking out (never have too many spare parts Only other thing is if you have any contact with any vw guys with vintage stuff . There is a thing they do where you use an early sixties axel and they turn it up side down with sway away adjusters .It looks and works the same as original. This if you can get it done would see you through the summer months" while you locate what you need. In the mean time i will keep an eye out for you for the parts ,and im just thinking i think volks world did an artickle on that axel thing ill check some of my mags and let you know regards for now leo.

Hi Sigve Thank you for the kind comments/ the kubel was after been restored to some extent but with a lot of non VWkubel parts,eg wheels+tyres, lights and other bits. The running gear axels /floor /gearbox /engine was all kubel though the engine needs an overhaul it now sits in my friends museum. I use the car quite abit to vintage and military shows and just to take for a spin so she is now running on 1200 VWBEETLE engine o and hydralic brakes for safety, .The guy with the museum is a big VW man he restores and collects VWS mostly split screens so he looks after the car for me. regards leo10
