Hello Samdal
"fcx" = Schwelmer Eisenwerk
So the tank is either from a Airfield Refuller or Airfield Crash Tender.
"3500l" If the tank has only one compartment this would indicate it is probaly from a Airfield Refueller, because 3500l = 2600kg fuel. If the tank has two compartments it would indicate that it is from a Airfield Crash Tender. According to the pictures it looks like a single compartment.
"1942" If the tank has only one compartment this would indicate it is probaly from a Kfz. 385.
Best Regards Guenter

Thanks for the information Guenter! This tank was found near the airfield of Sola/Forus in Norway. Tried to search for pictures of this type of vehicle on the net, but found only pictures which seems like tank with two cambers? Do you have any picture showing this refuler? Sigve

Something like this perhaps? The top of the tank is different, but that might be just a cover... ?? Rolf

Can you give me the measures of the tank, I have an LG3000 Kfz 384 .
The tank is missing , but I can proof when I have the measures of it will fit in the tank-body.
My tank-body is also built by the firm Schwelmer Eisenwerk in Schwelm.

Hi Samdal'
On the photo the tank looks not very long, maybe it is not from a LG3000 Kfz 384.

Hello einheitsdiesel,
Sorry for my late reply.
Have now gotten the measurements for this tank: Length= 1950mm Hight= 1050mm With= 2100
If you study my first picture, you can see that there might have been a structure on top of it. Is it possible that this tank could have come from a trailer like the Sd.Ah. 454?
Sigve

Hello! I don not think the tank is from a trailer, because the dome is at another place: I'm also sure that the tank is not from a Kfz. 385/late (*) because the brackets are different: Somewhere I've a picture showing a Kfz. 385 with the tank removed for some repairs. Unfortunately I did not find this picture yet. I'll post it asap. Best Regards Guenter -------------------------------- (*) The term "kfz. 385/late" is my private indication. As far I know the late version of the refuelling vehicle based on the Opel Blitz received no number. For a better determination with the version used to supply the V2 I indicate the airfield version as "Kfz 385/late".

Hi , I have took the measures also from the Mercedes Benz LG 3000 Kfz 384 . I had no problems with that , all the tank holders etc are in the tank body, so it was very easy!
Length 3050 mm.
Hight 80 mm.
With 1650 mm.
The dome is the same as the drawing from the Anh. from Guenter.
So I can help you not further with the identification, we know for sure that your tank is not from a Mercedes-Benz LG 3000 Kfz.384.
Hi Guenter , I would like to see your photo when it is possible, kind regards Hans Rinsma

Hi Guenter , I would like to see your photo when it is possible, kind regards Hans Rinsma Hello Hans, I've searched my picture collection but did not find them yet. I received them in 2005 and It seems I've stored the complete series at a wrong location during my recent move. Maybe I'll find these pictures while searching for something else...
