Hello
I'm trying to restore a 1941 Mercedes 170VK. Is there anymore 170VK-owners out there? My car is a bit incomplete... but I actually got it free of charge!

I got the parts from a man that had got them from Norway in the seventies. He thought it was a postwar pickup and sold of parts from it during the years he had it. When he got older he decided to clean up around the farm and offered the parts to me as spare parts for my 1939 Mercedes 170V convertible A. I got a chassi with firewall and front fenders. As it turned out I will use some of my spare parts to make the parts car more complete. This summer I was able to track down the original 1941 engine complete with the special aircleaner. The engine is back in the chassi after some 25 years... The engine has been sabotaged probably by the norwegian resistance! More about that later. I have found two original doors and one side of the top bows (same as lepkw Stoewer). If everything works out I will be able to borrow a original body from Norway to make a copy. Parts does turn up sometimes. This christmas my father had bought me a original speedo for instance. In Sweden there is very little German military cars by obvious reasons. I know of a couple of 170VK cars but most of them seems to have been scrapped during the war.

Hello Johan,
I have here a complete rolling and restored chassis with engine, gearbox and everything is in it there. This one comes from the Mercedes Benz factory. They had made a cutaway from it. Anyway, it is not for sale, but if you need some detailed pics from which corner however and wherever or some measurements please fell free and drop me a line and I'll tried to help you out...

Thanks Erik It would be very interesting to visit you some time. For the annual MB club meeting at our place I made a cardboard body for the 170VK. The black and yellow car is my 170V cab A 1939.
