A few days ago, finally my car arrived! ;D A battered 1939 170v, not many parts on it, but lots of parts in boxes, so I hope to have a successful restoration in the end! So, that's it. A civil car indeed, but during the war these were used by the army, too. This picture is at its previous location, before loading on the platform: Attachments:

And the engine. Not so bad on the outside, yet a big unknown on the inside. Working condition or wrecked? We'll see! Attachments:

Little by little, the project is going on! But in a little different direction - located and acquired another one All the same, 4-door limousine, made in January 1940. Disassembled ca. 1988 for rebuilding, which never happened. The chassis had been rusting outside for 20+ years. Attachments:

And so was the "golden" coupe, the upper part is Ok, but some rust holes appeared on the lower part. Of course, all the structural wood inside is rotten, but at least have all the parts for pattern. Attachments:

Fortunately all other parts were kept indoors, so survived all the years in good shape. Had to make a decision, which one to start, the first or the second car? The doors helped me make the decision. The doors of the second car had been professionally rebuilt with new wood /the door frame is wooden/ back in the late 1980s, ready to use. Attachments:

The coupe is attached to the chassis in several points. Before any major work, these points had to be strengthened where needed. Attachments:

A few patches, just to make sure the coupe will stand well on the chassis and then the major repair will be done. It is important to put it on the chassis and fix all the dimensions, otherwise the shape may be lost and the doors may never close. Or never open Attachments:

As said, before going on with the coupe, I will need to put it on the chassis. But the chassis needed a rear axle, which was missing. Lost long ago. But I found a replacement and restored it. Attachments:

The chassis is ready, standing on 4 wheels! Next step will be to go on with the coupe, tin and wood. Meanwhile the engine is being totally rebuilt by a good specialist, the work is nearly done and it must start soon! Most work is still ahead, but the project is advancing, little by little.
