It also states (only via google translate) that the military models were stamped with the letter H
Mine has this stamped three times above the chassis number

So thanks to Wilhelm I now have the german dienstvorschrift for the French model ford used by the Wehrmacht and the part numbers in my truck match the part numbers in the book! Brake drums, gearbox, lots of bits
I also found a four digit number in the cab in side the left hand door where you step in has anyone else with a F198t found this number? If so can you pm me so we can compare notes

www.collectionneur.me/categorie-10316764.htmlThis bloke has an f198t like me and has found the notek light holes and all of the same parts I have with german steps, the air filter as described in the dienstvorschrift etc etc etc then as the gauntlet was thrown down for evidence of wartime manufacture and use I think these facts show this Any thoughts? I do think the French will divert any and all suggestions they were building up to 20 ford trucks per day from poissy for the Wehrmacht ( this is easy to find documented on the internet)

So it turns out that those "Indochina fords" were 4X4 and called F798T made from 1947 and mine is a 4X2 and as a nice gentlemen in france tells me my truck is an FG198TS (its on the engine) a hybrid truck made from french and german parts in 1944 for the GERMANS! this coincides with the dates on the dienstvorschrift for the french four speed and all the other numbers match the Koln dienstvorschrift! it would also explain why it has holes in the battery tray and holes where a typpenschild has been and other wartime traits including tan paint and the chassis number of an F198T
The plot thickens!
Anyone ever heard of these trucks?
any info would be appreciated
Cheers
