Hallo Guenter, This two types are suitable for the brackets. I have no photos that show the can in the holder. Wilhelm

Hello A realy good restore. But is there a little mistake? I think Opel-Blitz are allways produced the 3 Tonner with a metal cab and only the licence product from MB the L701 was produced with the Einheits-cab with out Opel company signs???
best regards Henning

Hello opelblitz ,
your quite right about the position of the canholders and batteryplatform . Last year i got a 1939 Blitz 4x2 with all the same features as Sigve's Blitz , the Batterybox, the holder under the cargobed , the jackholder etc, its all the same . Only the Schpritzkannen/Flaschen Halter where taken out !!
About the pic you posted , why is there a "Geländevergaser" mounted, tought they only used them for Allrad and Maultier ?
Hans

Hi, Interesting forum; lucky to find it. We have an Opel Blitz 1944 (equiped with Imbert gasifier!) which needs a lot of work to let it drive on the road again. Looking for technical manuals etc. as the electricalk circuits are in a bad shape. The engine looks okay. Imbert needs attention. Missing some parts as well.
Please help.....
regards Jan

The book "Wartime Woodburners", by John Fuller Ryan, includes approximately 80 illustrations, plus text, from the manual "Imbert Holzgasanlage im 3 to Opel Blitz Lastwagen". Thx, Will buy this book. regards Jan

Thanks Scott for your help. I do not have the patience and technical understanding for a restoration. I flew last year with my brother to Copenhagen and visit a restored Allrad Blitz from 1944 with original cabin. The price was good but i was unsure because he looked to use. But i should have bought

Hi, I'm a new member in this forum. I have been 'selected' by a local historic wartime car club to restore their 1939 Blitz's cabin (wooden frame). I have two cabins available but they are both badly damaged and thus it has shown to be very difficult to get the correct wooden frame dimensions. The other cabin has been damaged in an air assault and is full of bullet holes and the other is just rotten. Both cars were used by the Finnish army during 1939-1940 and/or 1941-1944 in the Finnish-Russian wars. The main problem I have now, is that there are no evidence what the front of the wooden frame (that attaches to the truck body) should be like. Pictures of the cabin restoration project can be found at my (public) Facebook page: Link to cabin restoration pages
Here are the two cabins put into parts: Here is the jig I've made for the cabin assembly (pretty empty at the moment):
